IFS Consultant - Manufacturing and Planning

Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced IFS Consultant specialising in Manufacturing and Planning with proven knowledge and hands-on experience in ERP implementations across Engineering, Manufacturing and Planning domains. The successful candidate will participate in full-cycle IFS implementations, provide functional and process consultancy, configure IFS modules, and work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support IFS ERP implementations in the areas of Engineering, Manufacturing and Planning, from requirements gathering to go-live and post‑implementation support;
Analyse business processes and translate requirements into IFS functional designs and configuration specifications;
Configure IFS modules related to manufacturing, production control, bills of materials, routing, shop floor control, MRP/DRP and planning;
Design and implement planning strategies, master data structures, work orders, production scheduling and capacity planning in IFS;
Collaborate with technical developers to define integrations, data migration approaches and customisations, ensuring alignment with best practices;
Develop test scenarios, execute functional testing, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage issue resolution;
Support data migration activities: mapping, cleansing, validation and loading of engineering, product and planning data into IFS;
Provide training, prepare user documentation and run workshops to enable business adoption of IFS processes and tools;
Act as liaison between business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met;
Identify process improvement opportunities and propose solution enhancements leveraging IFS capabilities and industry best practices;
Support cutover planning, production readiness checks and post‑go‑live hypercare activities;
Ensure compliance with security, data protection (GDPR) and corporate governance requirements in all implementation activities.
Profile / Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Information Systems or a related field;
Proven experience in IFS ERP implementations with a focus on Engineering, Manufacturing and Planning modules;
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (discrete and/or process), production planning, MRP principles, bill of materials (BOM) and routing;
Hands‑on experience configuring IFS components for production control, shop floor, capacity planning and MRP;
Experience with data migration, integration patterns (REST/SOAP, APIs), and working alongside developers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions;
Strong analytical skills, problem solving orientation and attention to detail;
Experience producing functional specifications, test scripts, user guides and training materials;
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to run workshops and train users at different levels of the organisation;
Experience in project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and working within multi‑disciplinary and international teams;
Fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is an advantage;
IFS certification or formal training in relevant IFS modules is a plus;
Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
